Hong Kong City Guide
Hong Kong is a favorite destination despite being a small tourist spot. The country is a favorite to international guests because you can roam around its landmarks in just a span of days. Here are the top attractions where visitors are always excited to head to once they get off the airport.
For an idea of how standard fare rates go in Hong Kong, there are three different taxi types namely the Urban, Lantau, and New Territories Taxis. The red Urban taxis have a basic charge of HK$20 for the first 2 kilometers and a surcharge of HK$1.50 for every 200 meters thereafter. The Lantau (blue) and New Territories (green) Taxis have a HK$15 and HK$16.5 starting rate, respectively, with periodic add-ons of HK$1.30 every 200 meters.
If you are on a guided city tour, nearly all charges will be inclusive of your package. However, for the adventure seekers who prefer taking cabs, it would take less than 15 minutes right off the airport. Disneyland is 16.24 kilometers from the airport. For an estimate of cab rates, about HK$114 will get you through.
Again, considering the airport as your point A, this would be a farther route as it is almost 50 kilometers away. That would translate to an estimated fare of HK$272 and would take you about 50 minutes to get there.
Avenue of the Stars
Another favorite Hong Kong spot, it would take you a little over 30 minutes to get there from the airport, and would cost you about HK$200.
These estimates and destinations are highlighted, as it is more likely to top your list of landing points. It will certainly vary and depend upon the location of your hotel, which could be your point A. However, these would at least give you an idea of how you’re going to go about your budget in case you do prefer going around Hong Kong through taxis.
